We survey, make and fit windows, doors, conservatories and roofline across Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. Every frame is built to the opening our surveyor measured — and we will tell you when your house needs less than you came in for.
02Why it matters
Two houses on the same street rarely need the same windows.
One has stone reveals and a lintel that has moved. The next has been rendered and re-pointed and is perfectly square. Order both from a catalogue and one of them gets packed out with foam and trim to hide the difference.
So we measure first and price afterwards. The surveyor is paid to measure rather than on commission, which is why they can afford to tell you that your frames are sound and the draught is coming from under the floor.

Four things · done properly
Windows
Casement, tilt-and-turn, flush sash and vertical slider, in uPVC or aluminium. Cut to the opening our surveyor measured, not to the nearest size in a catalogue.

Composite front doors, uPVC back doors, bi-folds and sliding patio sets. The cylinder, the lock and the hinges are named on the quote, not described as “high security”.

Roofline
Fascia, soffit, guttering and dry verge. Nobody has ever admired a fascia board — but a rotten one quietly ruins the wall underneath it.

On the left, an original timber window at the end of its life — paint gone, putty perished, single glazed, and letting the weather straight through the gaps. On the right, a new sealed unit in a frame cut to the same opening.
Most of what we do is exactly this swap. Same hole in the wall, a warmer and quieter room behind it.
03Houses like yours
We work on ordinary northern houses, and we are glad of it.
Stone terraces, inter-war semis, seventies estates and the occasional farmhouse. Not show homes — the sort of house that has settled a bit and has opinions.

An honest caveat
Glazing is roughly a fifth of the heat leaving a typical older house. Walls and the loft are the bigger share. If your loft is bare we will say so — a hundred pounds of insulation beats a thousand pounds of glass every time.

Five stages · one team
01Survey
Somebody measures every opening
Including the awkward one behind the bath. They check the lintel, the reveal depth and the sill, and photograph anything that will change the price. Allow forty minutes for a full house.
02The quote
One page, one price, no countdown
Sizes, profile, glass make-up, hardware and exactly how far we make good. It arrives by email a couple of days later and it does not expire. There is no better number available if you hesitate.
03Making
Cut to your sizes, not to a stock list
Frames are cut and welded to the surveyed dimensions and the sealed units made to suit. Ten to fourteen working days is normal, and you are told the week rather than the season.
04Fitting
The same two people, start to finish
Dust sheets down, old frames out, new frames packed and fixed properly, sealed inside and out, reveals made good to a paint-ready finish. The debris leaves with us.
05Sign-off
Checked against what we promised
Every opening tried for operation, seal and square, certificates and guarantee paperwork handed over, and the job closes when you have signed the sheet — not when the van pulls away.

09Where we work
Two bases, one hour out from each.
A guarantee is worth exactly as much as our willingness to drive back out and honour it. So we keep the map small enough that returning to adjust a hinge in eighteen months is a short trip rather than a debate.
